Mega Quiz Competition 2023

I (Praveena) recently conducted a Mega Quiz Competition which saw 100+ participants from Grade 11 and Grade 12 in my school named International Indian School Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The topic was “Technology & Inventions”. We first organized them into groups of 5 and conducted the preliminary round which consisted of a set of questions for each team. 5 teams were qualified for the final round based on this. The final round was further divided into 5 more rounds. The first-prize, second-prize, and third-prize winners were declared on the basis of the number of correct answers provided by them respectively.  Not only did we just ask questions and move on, we educated and explained to them about all the technological inventions that were mentioned in the questions we asked. They were also very excited and enthusiastic to learn about them. Finally, we declared the winners and gave them trophies and gift card money. Since, I’m the organizer of this quiz competition, I bought all of that prior to this.

Conducting a competition like this wasn’t a piece of cake that too for a huge number of participants. We first went to each class to note down the names of interested students. After this, we tried to split them up into groups but later realized that it wouldn’t work out for various reasons and came up with another good idea. We then had to arrange a hall in which all the participants would fit in. That was again quite a little difficult since there were a lot of other school events like sports, investiture ceremony, etc were lined up but we were assiduous. My friends were very supportive and of great help to me.

The fruit of all the hard work put on by me was finally seen on the faces and words of all the participants and teachers. All of them including the HOD appreciated me for my exertion toward conducting this contest even though I had no obligation to do so.

A few 11th graders were very much amazed by my actions and gifted me by grouping the gift card money I had given them as a prize. They told me that never in the history of my school had a person organized a competition all by themselves and admired my efforts. I felt elated that they loved it as well.
