Women For Stem India

Science

Although it has been often said that gender equity is crucial, the world still looks very different for women than it does for males. For our community—the community of scientists—this is especially true. Less than 4% of female scientists hold the top positions in research institutes, despite the fact that women make up nearly half of undergraduate scientific students. There aren’t enough women in leadership roles, which results in a lack of role models for women rising through the ranks. Women are also underrepresented in policy-making discussions. Additionally, it doesn’t help that access to information, compensation, and recognition for male and female coworkers still differ greatly.

WFSI aspires to empower and inspire the subsequent generation of female scientists, engineers, and innovators because we believe in the transformative power of representation. We work to dismantle barriers, advance gender equality, and build a more welcoming STEM community through interesting articles, interviews, and tools.
